Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from Dr. Larson’s previous role?
At this time, Music City Pet Internal Medicine is a teleconsultation service. Soon, it will be possible to schedule endoscopy procedures and learning services. One main difference is that pet owners will come to a rotating location (rather than the doctor driving around to various locations). There will be some limitations while navigating a restrictive covenant clause (a noncompete).
Is telemedicine legal in TN?

Teleconsultation between a specialist and another licensed veterinarian is perfectly acceptable. A valid VCPR is required when offering teleconsultations directly to the pet owner. One combination may include a three-way conversation with the specialist, the referring veterinarian, and the pet owner to maintain the valid VCPR.

How do I schedule a teleconsultation?

Use the scheduling option for either a vet consultation or a vet and pet owner consultation in 15 or 30-minute increments.

How do I schedule a procedure such as an ultrasound or endoscopy?
Music City Pet Internal Medicine currently does not have an ultrasound machine. Visiting a practice and using an onsite machine to provide a comprehensive ultrasound may be possible. Still, that availability will vary and is mainly intended for urgent care facilities.

Endoscopy scheduling will be available soon. The intent will be to provide an endoscopy as a follow-up to an ultrasound. For example, suppose your patient has had an ultrasound completed by one of the available mobile services in the area. In that case, the patient may be a candidate for endoscopy based on interpretation and recommendations. The next step is scheduling with Music City Pet Internal Medicine for an affordable and convenient outpatient procedure nearby.

What is a Chief Learning Officer and how would I use one?
A Chief Learning Officer, CLO for short, is a senior-level executive who oversees all learning and employee development programs within an organization. They create learning strategies, oversee their execution, and ensure all educational programs align with larger company goals.
